Watch Out Delaware!

Recently I had the pleasure of meeting Christine O’Donnell.  If you haven’t heard of her, she is a wonderfully conservative woman from Delaware running for Senate next fall.
You may have seen her as a political commentator on Fox News, CNN, C-SPAN,O’Reilly Factor, Hannity & Colmes, Chris Matthews, and Entertainment Tonight.
I addition to being incredibly well-spoken, she stands for many of the conservative values that I hold to be very important, including pro-life values
According to her website,
“Women are starting to come forward to break the silence about the mental and …

Are We Really A Democratic Society?

“If a nation expects to be ignorant and free in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be.”-Thomas Jefferson
Everyone knows democracy is a “good” thing.  What could be wrong with rule by the people? No one wants tyranny!
But, in our nation, one ruled by representative democracy, we may be ruling with something that could potentially become even worse than tyranny.
The problem is that when regular citizens are voting for officials, how do we know that those voting are actually informed enough to make important decisions …

The ADL’s anti-Conservative Propaganda

by Andrew Patchan
The Anti-Defamation League recently issued a report warning of increased “anti-government hostility” in response to the policy initiatives of the Obama White House and Democrat controlled Congress. The report claims this hostility manifests itself in forms “ranging incivility in public forums to acts of intimidation and violence” – listing “Tea Party” protests and town-hall demonstrations as examples of extremist activity. The participants of such demonstrations are characterized as dangerous conspiracy theorists with ties to the militia-movement. The ADL ignores the fact that the so called extremists who attend …

Time Magazine and Today’s Women

In the November 16 issue of Time Magazine the front page article was on Women.  There was entire expose on today’s women versus yesterday’s (The 1960 Homemaker).  As a woman it was good to see the statistics on increased educational opportunities, equal pay, leadership position in corporate America and government roles.  We women…We Americans should be proud of these statistics.
However, even with all of this success I believe as women, we have forgotten one our greatest assets or should I say privileges.  That privilege is to bring life into the …

Tear Gas and the Tyranny of Deceit

By Andrew Patchan
Police adorned in black body armor stormed the University of Pittsburgh campus. Tear gas and pepper spray filled the air, and students with the audacity to ignore the orders of the occupying forces were beaten by police batons. These students were not rioting – most were not even involved in any demonstrations – their only crime was being present outside of the buildings which house them. Dozens of videos streaming the internet document this incident; yet major media outlets have neglected to provide coverage of the tragic …

CatholicVoteAction Needs Help

I received this email blast from CatholicVoteAction.org.  I thought it was extremely relevant and wanted to share it.
Dear CatholicVoteAction.org Member,
Buckle your seatbelt.
As I write this, Senator Harry Reid is moments away from releasing the Senate’s healthcare bill.  And the “Stupak” language prohibiting taxpayer funding for abortion may be scrubbed.
We fought together two weeks ago in the House and scored a temporary victory.  But we could lose everything if we don’t put the pressure on again.
Can you chip in $20 right now? Visit https://www.catholicvoteaction.org/donations.php

The CatholicVoteAction network includes …

A few months ago this was a top story on Fox news.  I still think it is important today.  If you haven’t seen it, take a look.

Governor-Elect Visits JMU’s “D-Hall”

By Emily Buck
HARRISONBURG, VA–Governer-elect, Bob McDonnell, then only the republican candidate for governor in Virginia, rallied support from students when he visited James Madison University’s “D-Hall” on August 25.  Hosted by JMU’s College Republicans, McDonnell introduced himself to students eating dinner around D-Hall, and he spoke to his supporters about the current success of his campaign, as well as the areas that he needed help with, urging students to volunteer at the local Harrisonburg Republican headquarters, as well as to talk to their peers about the important issues in the …
